Swingin’ Overtime is an 11-piece contemporary jazz orchestra. We currently play a lot of Swing music from the early 1900s, but with a mix of Latin, modern pop/rock, and contemporary jazz. We have two vocalists who pull off the Frank Sinatra, Michael Buble’, Natalie Cole, Etta James… Our song list is extensive (and will be posted here soon).
Swingin’ Overtime Details
• Orchestration: Four brass (2 trumpet and 2 bone), four saxes (2 altos, tenor, and bari), and three in the rhythm section (drums, upright bass, piano or guitar). Two members of the group sing as well.
• With Swingin’ Overtime, we can arrange special songs for special events. Hear your special song arranged for an 11-piece ensemble!
• Shane Ellis leads the band and hires top musicians from Maine and New England. Each musician is highly respected and reliable.
• “Classy and Fun” would be the best description of Swingin’ Overtime. We sound good, look sharp, and put on an old-school acoustic big band show with minimal amplification. For weddings, this band is a great alternative to obnoxious DJs and absurdly loud cover bands.
